The Valley-Doll Sheep are a beautiful cross of the Black Nose Valais Sheep and South Down Baby Doll Sheep. The Black Nose Valais sheep are an imported breed to the US from Switzerland with the first frozen embryos being imported in 2020, resulting in the first purebred lambs being born in 2021. There are roughly only 600 purebreed registered BNV sheep in the country, with 3,000 sheep currently involved in “breed up programs”. Why did I choose to dabble with the BNV Sheep? Simply because I could not resist how mind blowing cute they are! Their markings are so bold and engaging, reminding me of The Highpark Cattle. Their personalities are also just genuinely docile, sweet and kind and not to mention limitless hours of entertainment watching these sheep bound, spring, jump and leap around the field. If you’re going to have sheep, might as well be the world’s cutest sheep.
The Valley-Doll sheep are broken down into 5 grading systems -
F1 - 50% Black Nose Valais x 50% Baby Doll
F2 - 75% Black Nose Valais x 25% Baby Doll
F3 - 87.5% Black Nose Valais x 12.5% Baby Doll
F4 - 93.75% Black Nose Valais x 6.25% Baby Doll
F5 - Considered Purebreed

Born via C-Section on February the 20th, we knew immediately that mumma Cocoa wasn’t going to be able to have her twin boys naturally due to her small birthing canal and lack of pelvic shelf. Cocoa was rushed straight to the vets clinic where we were thankfully able to save all 3! Mumma and her two baby boys. Little Man will be leaving the ranch with baby Faith and living his absolute best life in Indiana with some of our most favorite humans - Mike and Jennifer Stacey who purchased our preemie calf Grace in 2025. I couldn’t be happier for Little Man and baby Faith.

Talk about perfectly masked and stamped ! Born on February the 17th, weighing in at 8.12lbs, this little F3 ewe lamb was a twin to her baby brother. She came first and fearlessly and even though born first, mumma Almond refused to accept her and only wanted her little boy. Sweet baby girl was placed on the bottle after 3 days of trying with mumma and will be headed to SD shortly to join her new family and Lucy one of our little ewes from 2025.

Our little twin boy born via c-section is the luckiest of all to be with us today. His birth was long and traumatic and thanks to life saving efforts from our vet, he is here today to tell his story! He was coming first and fought so hard to come out the right way but a sideways entrance served him well, plus some dophram and time in the oxygen cage post lambing. He was absolutely worth the fight to save.

Our most favorite ewe Pistachio gave birth to F3 twins - a little boy and a little girl. Baby girl is a spitting image of her mumma with her short little sqwishy face and marked so perfectly for the breed standard. I am absolutely over the moon with this baby girl and Pistachio is obsessed too!
