RCM Mighty Warrior blessed us with another incredible Micro/Miniature Highpark Heifer on March 11th and baby Amira is one tiny power house of perfection, in one perfect little bundle. She is suspected Chondro Positive, Heterozygous Polled and Homozygous White - all pending testing. Dam RCM Gracie is a Black Tipped Whitepark x Lowline Female who has been in our program from the very beginning  Gracie raises some of the best dispositioned calves there is and takes being a mumma very seriously.  Baby Amira reminds us greatly of Warrior as calf with their identical markings at birth.

The Midsized White Highland Heifer, she is your double dilute, she is your perfect match for your chondro bull. Our sweet girl RCM Candy gave birth on March the 8th to another haired up little heifer calf! Candy is a Small Framed 44 inch Yellow Highland Cow and paired up with RCM Silver Sterling, these two never disappoint us. - 🩷 Introducing little Juniper born on March 12th, daughter of RCM Silver Sterling and RCM Y-1 in the very wee hours of the morning. Juniper is a Non Chondro Yellow Highland Heifer Calf and couldn’t be more different to her full 2024 sister who was a dun shortie heifer calf.  Juniper has an adorable little head that’s short and blocky, beautiful dense yellow hair that can make all colors of the highland rainbow being a single dilute and just 24 inches at birth / 44lbs.  She is an adorable little highland calf backed by some nice small compact genetics here on the ranch 🩷 -

- 🩷 The wait is over, our first HighRoan Heifer has finally arrived for the season and she did not disappoint ! We got all the look and the hair of the Highland Breed and the Roaning Gene from the Shorthorn Breed of cattle combined into one perfect little heifer calf. I can’t even explain and put into words our excitement over this gorgeous girls arrival but what I can say is 

- she is actually a ROAN, not an overly marked Highpark like some people are trying to market and sell as roans now 

- she doesn’t have “roan tones” she is a ROAN 

- we know who her parents are and are willing to provide that information to her buyer, not withhold.

Born late on St Patrick’s Day, perfect baby Piper made her appearance and we couldn’t have been more thrilled with her arrival! Piper is about as cute, fluffy, tiny and adorable as it gets!  With a tiny birth height of 20 inches there is no doubt she is chondro positive and she has the absolutely most perfect little head and is coated in hair!  She looks like a little stuffed teddy bear and her dun little tips are perfectly placed. Sweet baby Georgia with a face like yours, how can anyone resist you? RCM Silver Sterling strikes again with yet another perfectly haired up Yellow Highland Heifer who is a spitting image of her dam RCM Collbran.  Born on March 12th at 2.30am, Collbran had a short and easy labor and sweet Georgia was up in no time ready to nurse and take the world on. Born with the sack over her face, calvings like this remind us why we watch our mumma cows so closely during calving season. More thankful than ever I was present and able to break and remove the sack from her faced, allowing her to take her first breath VS drown in her own amniotic fluid.  We have named her Grace as by the grace of God she is with us today alive and well. Grace is the whole package ! She is a Silver Highland Heifer making her a double dilute, eliminating black and red calves regardless of the sire color when it comes time to be a mumma herself.  She has incredible hair -  It’s thick, dense and intense!  This is one gorgeous heifer calf backed by our Silver Miniature Highland Bull - RCM Silver Sterling.

They don’t come much smaller than this tiny petite little Highland x Heifer Calf weighing just 30lbs at birth and 20 inches tall. Baby Levee was born unassisted to our Chondro Highland Cow RCM Stormy on March the 14th, another successful calving sired by RCB Bubba our non chondro 42 inch Highpark Bull. Levee even though as tiny as she is, doesn’t let size stop her!  She has a big and sassy free spirited personality and keeps her dam busy. Levee is dun in color and suspected chondro positive pending testing.

- 🐼 RCM Heidi and RCM Sterling made the perfect little Dun Panlander Heifer Calf, born March 8th with ease and unassisted.  Heidi is a small framed Highland x Hereford cow, giving this heifer calf a 75% highland percentage. She is cute as button with her pretty white face and little pink nose. She has some white tuffs along her ear margins and within and beautiful feathering coming down her face already.  Heidi her mumma is genuinely one of the calmest cows around, allowing you to do anything with her babies and her disposition will no doubt be passed down to her calf. Another perfectly colored Miniature Silver Highland Heifer born on March the 13th to our tiny little Dun Chondro Highland Cow Maxine who as a first time calver, calved unassisted like a pro. Jolene is as silver as they come and she is suspected to be homozygous silver pending testing. She holds very feminine and elegant features, 23 inches at birth and weighing in at just 38lbs. Sired by RCM Yellow Jacket our non chondro 42 inch Yellow Highland Bull, we are thrilled at the success of another chondro female calving with no complications. Jolene has a very calm and quiet disposition, dense double coated hair coat and the double dilute gene making her an excellent addition to any breeding program.

- 🩷 RCM Little Bubbas first baby has arrived on the ranch and we are pretty excited for this tiny little heifers birth. Bubba is our home raised Non Chondro 42 inch Dun Tipped Highpark Bull we retained in 2022 as a future herd sire for our Chondro Female Program. He was selected to be retained for his low birth weight and height, calving ease and small generational Non Chondro Genetics. Our goal was to provide Non Chondro Proven Semen options down the road for our Chondro Heifer Buyers, taking the search and stress out of finding that small proven non chondro bull for their chondro heifers. Bubbas dam RCM Chloe is a small framed 43 inch Whitepark Cow also born and raised on our ranch, his grand dam RCM Sweet Pea is a small framed Whitepark Cow 42 inches. Bubbas sire is our original Silver Highland Bull RCM Captain Silver, chondro positive 38 inches. 

Baby girls dam RCM Milkshake is a Chondro Positive Highpark Cow 3yr old 38 inches and I will say when she went into labor, anxiety was high we were praying for a smooth and easy delivery. Baby girl was born with ease and unassisted at 32lbs and 19 inches.  She is suspected chondro positive, polled and HOMOZYGOUS white - pending testing.  She is just the smallest, tiniest little bundle of 3 years of waiting. Takes more then 1 calf to prove a bull but I think we are off to a good start 🩷 -

- ❤️ Our cows never seem to stop throwing us a curve ball here and there, reminding us of just how important routine is to them and the birth of this Silver Highland Heifer Calf was one of those moments. We watched her Dam Silver Belle all day toodle about the heavy bred pen, one end to the other and up and down up and down.  This always tells us “ they are going to calve today “ when they won’t settle for the day and just chill and chew their cud.  So we watched and waited all day for her to go into actual pre labor and start the true labor stomp marching with purpose, kinked tail and all. 5pm rolled around to let the girls in for dinner. Everyone came up and went to eating except for Silver Belle who stood at the gates to the maternity barn basically telling us “ let me in to the barn , I’m ready to have my baby right now !” We let her into the maternity stall and by 5.30 we had a baby on the ground covered in meconium but alive and well. I truly believe Silver Belle waited most of the day to have her baby in the barn where she has had her last 4 babies.  She didn’t want to have it outside with the other cows close by, she wanted her freshly bedded stall and privacy. There wasn’t one time during the day watching her we were worried as she never got the tail kink, never went into the true labor stomp, never laid down with contractions and started to push and no water bag was ever present. There was nothing to worry about. I truly believe she was just waiting to come into the barn to have baby Maggie in a clean, dry and private setting because for Silver Belle , the barn is where you have your babies at RCM ❤️-

RCM Sterling and RCM Lolli never disappoint us with their pairing! They both bring incredible hair genetics to the table, conformationally correct thick and stout babies and this little gem is a perfect example. Baby girl was born on March the 14th and she is a fluffy little dun highland heifer, suspected chondro positive pending testing.
