Rose my best Highpark Heifer finally gave birth on March 17th, 5 days past her due date to a heavily speckled 87.5% Highland Highpark Bull Calf.  You simply don’t see many Highpark calves with this high of a percentage of highland in them making him a perfect sire prospect for a Highland and or Highpark breeding program.  Spider Man as he has been named has phenomenal hair and markings just like his mumma. Georgina’s tiny tiny little heifer made her appearance on March the 3rd.  She was an upsized down baby but thanks to my husband, he was able to easily turn her around and pull her.  Georgina is a first time heifer from our original Miniature Whitepark Bull King George who we lost several years ago now to injury so getting one of his grand daughters on the ground is extra special.  This little heifer has stolen my heart at just 20 inches to her topline and her delicate features.  Sire is Strike our Miniature Dun Highland 75% x Lowline 25% Bull.

Sometimes genetics do as they please and this all black bull calf is a perfect example!  His Sire is Mighty Murphy our Miniature Highpark Bull and Dam is Strawberry our Midsized Red Tipped White Galloway girl. Meet Fritz, aka Feral Fritz. This little guy gave us a run for our money on the ranch when it came time to handle and desensitize him. Day one, he fought me every step of the way, threw himself on the ground, got between my legs and threw me on the ground 😂 and he was just genuinely scared and afraid. We have spent over 2 months handling Fritz on a daily basis, working slowly to build his confidence up and make him a sweet boy.  I think it’s safe to say we won the battle and we can now call him Friendly Fritz.  He is a success to us here on the ranch and it shows that patience and kindness always wins.  Video available
